If you feel like taking a complete tour, a great way to begin is at the temple of Olympian Zeus. This is one of the largest in antiquity which forms the entrance to the city. From there you can walk along the paved street of Dionysou Areopaghitou, passing through the ancient theatre of Dionysos and the ruins of the Asklepieion. This walk will definitely make you feel the ancient aura vibrating throughout the streets.

From there you can start climbing the sacred rock of the Acropolis to the Parthenon temple, the worldwide known ancient masterpiece of Greece. Taking a small break, you can relax and enjoy the unique 360 view of Athens.

Then you can walk up to Monastiraki and the Ancient Agora, the commercial, political and religious center of ancient Athens and rest in a nearby restaurant or café enjoying some local foods or desserts. In one of the most renewed places in Athens with many beautiful shops, Kerameikos is also the largest cemetery of the ancient city. Impressive tomb sculptures and stelae are everywhere around, while the Iridanos River runs through the archaeological site.
